Advantages of BigE Cranes & Beam Hoists |

Hoists motors of all BigE cranes are rated at 8.2kw and are
thus capable of virtually continuous operation (100% duty rating)
and fast lifting speeds. Typically other beam hoists have 40% duty
ratings. Most Elephante type 1000kgs hoists are powered by electric
motors of up to 2.6kw. The BigE can to alt least lift at least twice the height of most beam hoists and at 2 to 5 times the speed. As bricks, blocks, plasterboard and timber often come in loads between 1200kgs and 2000kgs the 2 tonne BigE is usually able to unload transport without splitting loads. Ideal to supplement tower crane "hook time" by handling smaller loads such as reinforcing, cladding and fitting-out materials and for bricks, blocks and mortar. Can often continue to provide a lifting capacity when tower cranes and mobiles are winded off. |

| Safety & Efficiency | ||||
|
Safer, faster and more economical than Elephante and other beam type hoists. As remote control includes power travel, no extra operator is required to lean out and push/pull winch gear and load when operator is feeding or working at levels other than top landing. All BIGE cranes have overhoist and trolley limit switches and thermal overload cut-outs. Those with over 1 tonne Safe Working Load have BIGE /LCM electronic overload cut-outs. All BIGE cranes are fitted with failsafe brakes. Pendant control includes emergency stop button. Winding and trolley assemblies of BIGE cranes are mounted in fixed inboard positions and provide a counter to the cantilevered load rather than adding to it. Exceptionally rugged design ensures considerable overload/safety capacity under normal working conditions. The BIGE patented jib suspension system ensures any deflection of the jib under load will not be transmitted to the cross beams, shear-legs or scaffolding. Suspension system facilitates handling of large or abnormal loads. Normal power supply of 415v 3 phase and earth , no neutral, 32 amps per phase via D type motor rated circuit breaker and 32 amp 5 pin commando socket at upper operator level. |
